Is your toilet clogged again? It is probably because you did not think twice before flushing down that toilet paper.

How often do you call a professional plumbing agency for plumbing maintenance? Once a month? Once in 6 months or a year? Or you only call the plumber to fix that clogged toilet drain? If you don’t maintain your household plumbing, you might find yourself calling the plumber a lot of times.

From preventing clogs to stop pipe freeze, plumbing maintenance is critical to have a functioning plumbing system. Still need more reasons?

Keep an eye out for leaks, so problems stay out of reach
Small water leaks can often lead to big complications. Stay alert for any signs that may be visible and could possibly lead to further trouble. Prevention is always better than cure, especially for plumbing maintenance.

Stop procrastinating and repair problems early
A leaking faucet puts pressure on the sink features and facilitates mildew and mold growth. Another way to spot a plumbing leak is to pull your refrigerator away from the wall at least once a month. If you see water, you may have a leaking ice-maker. Also, small puddles could be worse than larger ones, as that can indicate water is soaking into your floor. So checking these appliance will prevent you from spending more on repairs.

Prevent malfunctioning of drains
Regular plumbing maintenance helps keep your drain efficiency upto the mark. Obviously, there is no way to keep your drains completely clear of dirt. Regular cleaning will help combat hair and grease build up though. Every month, pour a mixture of baking soda and white vinegar down your drain. After five minutes, run hot water to loosen debris.

Planning for emergencies helps
Knowing a few basic things like tightening a faucet or running an icemaker line, how to check the supply and drain lines on your dishwasher, appropriate ways to clear simple blockages can save you time, money and frustration if your problem is a small one. Unless, it is something you really cannot figure out, there will be no need to call a plumber. More importantly, you will be able to maintain your plumbing and ensure smooth functioning.

Avoid corrosion of your pipes
Identify the material that was used in the construction of pipes. If your house was built before the 1970s, chances are that your house may have galvanized iron pipes that could eventually rust and corrode. Keeping an eye out for such issues so you can change such pipes will keep your house plumbing system in the best of shapes.

Regular plumbing care and maintenance can forestall most of the water heater, toilet and faucet breakdowns at a fraction of the cost of repairs. Have your plumbing cleaned and checked at least once a year. Progressive service companies offer these services for a modest annual fee. Get in touch a professional plumber service today.

It makes sense that regular plumbing maintenance can help keep the drains and things working really well. We have noticed that in our current house there are a few blocks and things that are making it hard to get water to flow well down sinks and toilets. Doing some maintenance would definitely be something that we could use and would be helpful.

That is a good point that we should repair early instead of procrastinating. It might be good for my dad to hire a plumber to fix his faucet. He is just waiting for it to get worse and that won't help out.
